The Atisha Charitable Trust (ACT) represents a community of monastics and laity, following the Ganden Oral Transmission Lineage (GOT), an offshoot of the Mahayana Vajrayana Tradition of Buddhism. The charter to the ACT established earlier by its founder, the 13th Kundeling Rimpoche, was registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 of the Karnataka State, as a Charitable Trust, on the 3rd of May 1994, in the city of Bengaluru. Today, its headquarters exists at the fringe of the Arasinakere Village in the Mysore District, precisely 26 kilometres away from the heritage city of Mysore.
