AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ATISHA CHARITABLE TRUST

  1. The primary goal will be to indulge in the preservation and dissemination of the spiritual practice of the Ganden Oral Transmission lineage (GOT)—an offshoot of the Mahayana Mantrayana tradition of Buddhism.
  2. To support the works and activities of the founding spiritual head and director of this Trust, the 13th Kundeling Rimpoche, Sumati Gyana. And to champion his vision of the spiritual, educational and philanthropic guidelines. As it stands indispensable to the realization of the dreams of the ACT.
  3. To undertake the Preservation, Dissemination and Practical Application of the spiritual lineage of the GOT, training will be emphasized. To realize this, all initiatives indispensable towards its advancement as ordained in the statutes of the ACT, will be undertaken.
  4. To sustain the Kundeling Monastery and its community established while also supporting other monastic communities as they are vital to the Buddhist teachings, in addition to the non-monastic practitioners of the lineage.
  5. Promoting secular education by supporting Institutions imparting such that are eligible. Whether it be a kindergarten, school or a college. To also assist any other venture taken on behalf of mass education and awareness programs.
  6. To facilitate medical care for the sick and needy, by promoting the Allopathic and holistic systems of medical treatments. Supporting homes for the elderly, the homeless, orphanages, day care centers, hospices and animal welfare. Promoting initiatives to preserve a clean environment.
  7. To sponsor the construction of religious and secular edifices. To patronize and support the religious and classical arts comprising paintings, sculpture and dance to boost spiritual practice and promote the cultural ethos of the country.
  8. To explore avenues of economical sustainability and resources for future funding in undertaking the avowed goals of the ACT. To achieve financial independence, promote schemes for financial help and provide jobs.
  9. To engage in the embellishment, renovation and restoration works required for the preservation of the landed property and edifices under the ACT. To play host and promote public relationship.
  10. To stimulate any initiative taken on behalf of the aforesaid spiritual and secular goals of the ACT, by assisting or funding any required activities that boost these.
